Yesterday I deactivated my Facebook account. Going thru something that was handed to me by my parents that has been emotionally scarring. Along with that, and seeing the indirect negative comments on Facebook, made me decide to deactivate my account for awhile. I'm sure I'll log back in, but I prefer to not have so much negativity in my life right now. I need to focus on staying emotionally healthy. Want to get back to my writing and my art (not to mention, there's a ton of housework and my Gotta Do List is really long).
In some ways I wish my relatives had not found me on Facebook. Yes, I've yearned to know my mother's side of the family, but some of them are very negative and some are backstabbers. Who knew??
One good thing I learned since my out-of-state relatives found me is that I am an Indian. I don't want to state that I'm part Indian, because there is no such thing as being part Indian. If you have Indian blood, you are an Indian. When I first found out, I had a cool Indian Chief that I put as my background on my work computer. Then I got a computer upgrade and haven't been able to find that specific Chief. I'm not going to just put anything that's related to Indian heritage as my background. It has to make peace with me before I'll choose one.
